“With great service and a genuine family feel, my customer base was loyal and my business was doing well. I wanted to reach even more people to invite them into the fold, but traditional ‘ads’ weren’t cutting it,” says Jesse Berdinka, former owner of Pipersville’s Chubby’s Dairy Barn. “Ranie helped us shift our efforts from speaking in ‘ad language’ to speaking with people like they were already the family members we wanted them to be.”
Ranie saw that traditional marketing was not the growth solution for this rustic-style ice cream parlor. She worked with Jesse to develop an honest, intimate online presence with his customer base. Utilizing Ranie’s insight into social media best practices, Jesse’s Facebook following grew to over 5,000—and his business grew by 20%.
Jesse also notes the contribution community-gathering activities made for his business: “I had events in mind, but I wasn’t sure we could effectively pull them off. Ranie never trashed my ideas. She saw value in all of them, asked questions to clarify their purpose and feasibility, and helped me make them happen. I am utterly grateful for the boost in confidence she provided with her supportive attitude.”
